The Goondir Health Services provides primary health care services delivering holistic and culturally appropriate health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within their own communities. To meet these needs clinics and health services have been set up in major towns within Goondir Health Service area.

The organisation’s service provision area, approximately 240,000 Sq.Kms covers from Warwick in the south east, west to Goondiwindi and St George and north to Yuleba.

The strategic direction of the service is directed by the Goondir Health Services, Governing Committee. The Board members are elected from the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

 

HOME VISITS

Home visits are available for clients of the service who are unable to attend the surgery.  Screening includes; blood pressure, blood sugar level, pulse rate, urine analysis, dressing and general health information.  Visits can also be arranged for patients in nursing homes and hospitals.

Clients who wish to lodge a complaint may do so by writing to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 559 Dalby Qld 4405.  Alternatively you can contact the Health Rights Commission directly on: 1800 077 308.

Goondir Health Services are fully AGPAL and QIC Accredited.

TELEPHONING YOUR DOCTOR

Longer consultations are available upon request. A message will be taken when the doctor concerned is with another client. In the event of an emergency, calls will be put straight through to the doctor

FEES AND BILLING ARRANGEMENTS

Bulk billing is available for all clients through Medicare, as well as Veterans’ Affairs cardholder’s. The Doctor or staff will advise you of any other costs that might arise from your consultation or treatment (eg specialist appointments etc). All clients are urged to produce their Medicare card every time they visit the Health Service. Also to inform the reception staff of any change in personal details (eg address, phone numbers, new baby, etc)

REMINDER SYSTEM

A Reminder Service is provided to help you keep appointments. Please ask at Reception for further information.

Our aim is to provide clients with the best possible health service. To achieve this we ask clients to deposit any suggestions they may have in the suggestion box provided in reception.
