Overview & History:

Goondir Health Services is committed to its Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program to ensure the medical and whole of service activities are undertaken according to “best practice standards”.  We achieve this by Management and all Employees complying with Legislative and Regulatory requirements as well as Standards under Accreditation frameworks such as AGPAL.

This commitment contributes to the longevity of the Service through sound business practices and ensuring the highest quality of health care service delivery being mindful of the cultural sensitivity of our Client base and responsiveness needed to address the changing health care needs identified.  This assures all Stakeholders that this Service is striving to operate both effectively and efficiently by maintaining a high level of commitment to compliance requirements.

Goondir was the first Aboriginal Medical Service to achieve service accreditation under the QIC Health Standards in 2002 and has benefited greatly from this initiative.  However, in line with continual improvement, Goondir will cease its QIC certification in Nov 2011 and register into the ISO Accreditation with the aim of improving our organisational systems and review processes.

How do we Review and Improve What We Do?

To develop, maintain and enhance the business and clinical management aspects of our Health Service, quality review activities such as audits, surveys and reviews are scheduled and undertaken.  From these reviews recommendations are made and discussed with relevant agreed outcomes actioned and quality improvements recorded so that we can reflect and assess our quality journey.

Goondir has a dedicated Quality and Accreditation Manager who facilitates regular ongoing Quality Committee meetings to oversee all its quality improvement initiatives and accreditation requirements.

In Summary, Our Accreditation Status:

St George & Dalby Clinics – AGPAL Accredited since 2000.

Goondir Health Service (whole of service) – QIC Accredited 2002 - 2011.

Qld Department of Transport Operator Accredited since 2006.  Goondir Employees transporting Clients all hold Authorised Driver Cards from the Queensland Department of Transport and driver safety training.Top of Form



Dalby - GP Registrar Accredited Training post since 1999.

St George - GP Registrar Accredited Training post since 2009.

Transport Accreditation

The Goondir transport service is fully accredited with Queensland Transport standards and all drivers are accredited operators.
